A field experiment was conducted to compare water productivity of short- and long-duration rice cultivars transplanted on different dates under variable irrigation regimes during 2012–2014. The experiment was laid out in split plot design keeping combinations of three dates of transplanting (15 June, 25 June and 5 July) and two cultivars (PR 115 and PR 118) in main plots and four irrigation regimes [irrigation at 1, 2 and 3 days after infiltration of ponded water (DIPW) and continuous ponding (CP)] in subplots. Crop transplanted on June 15 and 25 produced statistically similar but significantly higher grain yield than July 5 transplanted crop. Grain yield increased to the tube of 17.2 and 15.6% under early transplanting on June 15 and 25 compared to July 5, respectively. However, amount of irrigation water applied decreased by 23.6 and 12.9 cm for July 5 and June 25 transplanted crop compared to June 15 transplanted crop, respectively. Apparent crop water productivity (ACWP) and total crop water productivity (TCWP) were significantly higher in June 25 transplanted crop than in June 15 and July 5. Similarly, energy use efficiency and energy productivity were also the highest in June 25 transplanted crops followed by June 15 and the least in July 5. Significantly higher grain yield was observed in cultivar PR 118 as compared to PR 115 under June transplanting dates (15 and 25 June). However, reverse trend was observed in late transplanting on July 5. Significant reduction in grain yield of PR 118 was recorded with delay in transplanting from June 25 to July 5, but PR 115 performed statistically similarly under all the three dates of transplanting. Irrigation water applied was 9.4% higher in PR 118 as compared to PR 115. ACWP and TCWP were 7.9 and 9.2% higher in PR 115 than in PR 118, respectively. ACWP and TCWP of PR 115 increased with delay in transplanting from June 15 to July 5, but differences between June 25 and July 5 remained nonsignificant. However, in the case of PR 118, ACWP and TCWP remained statistically similar between June 15 and June 25 and thereafter decreased significantly with delay in transplanting to July 5. Rice grain yield did not show any significant effect on irrigation application frequency, i.e. irrigate continuously or applied water at 1, 2 and 3 DIPW. However, 5.9, 15.2 and 23.5% higher irrigation water applied was recorded in continuous ponding than in irrigation application at 1, 2, and 3 DIPW, respectively. Apparent water productivity and energy use efficiency were 5.9 and 7.0, 15.3 and 13.0, and 19.8 and 23.0% higher in irrigation scheduling at 1, 2 and 3 DIPW than in CP, respectively.  相似文献

Homo and copolymers of monomers 2-(N-phthalimido) ethylmethacrylate (NPEMA) and 4-Chloro-3-methyl phenyl methacrylate (CMPMA) were prepared in N,N-dimethyl formamide (DMF) solution at 70 °C using 2,2-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as initiator. The solution of poly(NPEMA-co.-CMPMA) in 20 % DMF was used to fabrication electrospun nanofiber by electrospinning technique. IR data were primarily employed to characterize polymers. The formation of nanofibers was identified by SEM study. The metal ion uptake capacity of copolymers and nanofibers were obtain by batch equilibrium method using different metal ion solution. The antimicrobial activity of the copolymers, Polymer nanocomposites and their nanofibers were tested against different microbial organisms by using quantitative method. The main objective of this investigation was to find whether nanofiber are better remover of metal ions compared to copolymers. It was also aimed to study the efficacy of nanofibers of copolymers and copolymer composite with nano Ag as water sanitizer.  相似文献

Transition proteins (TNPs) are essential in chromatin condensation during spermiogenesis, and hence, they are the candidate genes for identifying sperm motility markers. Coding and in silico predicted promoter regions of these genes were investigated in crossbred and purebred cattle, and also, their mRNA quantification was done to explore its use as a diagnostic tool of infertility. PCR‐SSCP analysis revealed two band patterns in fragment III of TNP1 and fragment II of TNP2 gene. Sequence analysis revealed a deletion of “G” nucleotide in 3′UTR region of TNP1 and C>T SNP in intronic region of TNP2 gene. Least square analysis of variance did not reveal any significant influence of nucleotide deletion on any sperm motility parameters in both crossbred and purebred cattle. However, C>T SNP had a significant effect on initial progressive motility (p < 0.05) in purebred cattle and post‐thaw motility in overall cattle population. RT‐qPCR analysis did not reveal any significant variation in TNP1 and TNP2 gene expression among poorly motile and good quality spermatozoa of Vrindavani bulls.  相似文献

Information about the nutritional status of a plant is a basic prerequisite for its adequate nutrition and is crucial to achieve high-yield productivity. Assessing the annual amount of nutrient that a tree needs to absorb in order to successfully complete a vegetative and reproductive growth is a fundamental step for developing rational fertilization in orchards. We are unaware of any report describing macro- and micronutrient dynamics in fruit at different growth stages of mango. Seven cultivars of mango (Dashehari, Langra, Mahmood Bahar, Menka, Sabri, Sundar Langra and Zardalu) were selected for the study. Different macronutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium (N,P, K, Ca, and Mg) and micronutrients such as iron, manganese, zinc and copper (Fe, Mn, Zn, and Cu) were analyzed at four growth stages, namelymarble stage, prestone formation stage, stone hardening stage and harvest stage. There was a significant variation in nutrient content of fruits throughout the developmental stages irrespective of cultivars. There was no definite trend of nutrient variation among cultivars but in general, most of the nutrients like N, P, K, Mg, Mn, Zn, and Cu were the highest at the marble stage, and Ca and Fe at the stone hardening stage.  相似文献
