Three new carbazole alkaloids, harmandianamines A-C (1-3), together with fifteen known compounds (4-18) were isolated from the twigs of Clausena harmandiana. The structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, including UV, IR, NMR, and MS. The antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli TISTR 780, Salmonella typhimurium TISTR 292, Staphylococcus aureus TISTR 1466 and methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) SK1 of some isolated compounds was also evaluated. Compound 6 exhibited significant antibacterial activity against MRSA SK1 with an MIC value of 0.25 μg/mL which higher than that of standard drug, vancomycin (MIC value=1 μg/mL) whereas compounds 14 and 5 showed strong activity with MIC values of 4 and 8 μg/mL, respectively. Only compound 14 showed strong antibacterial activity against S. aureus TISTR 1466 with an MIC value of 4 μg/mL.  相似文献

Ornithobacteriosis is an infectious disease of avian species that has been reported in almost all countries around the world, except Thailand. The objectives of this study were to determine the seroprevalence of Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale (ORT) and to isolate and identify ORT in broilers and broiler breeders in Thailand. Chicken antibodies had been randomly checked from 17 farms (19 flocks) of broilers and 23 farms (28 flocks) of broiler breeders. The seropositive flocks were 63% and 100% in broilers and broiler breeders, respectively. The sera analysis showed that the individual 280 broiler sera antibody responses were 67.5% negative, 12.9% suspect, and 19.6% positive. The individual antibody responses of 510 broiler breeder sera revealed 12.2% negative, 38.0% suspect, and 49.8% positive samples. The bacteria were isolated and identified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Bacterial isolation and identification revealed that nine isolates of the 12 PCR analysis samples showed positive results to PCR analysis. All the positive PCR samples were collected from the broiler breeder farms.  相似文献

1. Avian sexing by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) plays an important role in sexual identification of avian species with similar phenotypes. Dried blood spots (DBSs) on paper blotters can help reduce the cost and problem of sample transportation and processing.

2. In the first experiment, several kinds of papers were evaluated for collecting DBS for chicken sexing by direct PCR with different processing methods. The most practical method with cost optimality was the utilisation of Whatman grade 1 filter paper with the combination of methanol fixation and boiling.

3. A second experiment was performed to determine whether cross-contamination could occur among samples cut with the same scissors. No-clean scissors were compared with ones cleaned with bleach-ethanol combination or 0.3N HCl. The PCR results showed that all three methods provided correct amplicon sizes without any false-positives regardless of the utilisation of cleaning intervention.

4. In conclusion, a technique that is suitable for DBS collection for avian sexing by direct PCR with cost efficacy was developed, and it was also shown that the utilisation of the same pair of scissors for several DBS samples did not affect the PCR results.  相似文献
