| Abstract: | Taurine as an important conditionally necessary amino acid,which plays an important role in the nutrition of sows and piglets,however,taurine from endogenous synthesis as well as the traditional diet provision can not meet the optimal nutritional needs of sows. Recent studies have found that dietary supplementation of taurine during gestation and lactation has a positive effect on mammary gland development,antioxidant capacity of sows and growth performance,immune system of piglets. This article reviewed the application of taurine and its mechanism in sow production to try to draw the attention of livestock producers to taurine and provide theoretical basis for the correct application of taurine in sow production.Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2022,34(2):681-688] |
