| Abstract: | Zhongjian 96-3, a late season japonica rice variety derived from C81-40/87095, was developed by CNRRI, with the characters of early-maturity, a total growth duration of about 128 d (5-7 d less than CK Xiushui 11), insensitive to photo-period, ideal plant type, middle tillering ability, strong culm, high lodging tolerance, erect flag leave,and good leave color at maturity. It has an average plant height of 76.9 cm, productive panicle of 370.35/m2, spikelets/panicle of 78.6, seed-setting rate of 93.5% , and 1000-grain weight of 29.9 g. |
