| Abstract: | The alphaherpesvirus canine herpesvirus (CHV) was tested in order to determine whether or not it has apoptotic potential. We have demonstrated that lytic replication of CHV resulted in induction of apoptosis. This phenomenon was confirmed using different techniques including in situ TUNEL assay and DNA laddering. The apoptotic activity of CHV might influence the pathobiology of this virus. |
