| Abstract: | Lingtai 3 was a new winter wheat variety bred from the plant of the tobacco winter wheat variety D27 after many years of continuous selection. The results showed that the height, ear length, 1 000-grain weight, bulk density, growth period were 90.75 cm, 6.80 cm, 36 g, 811 g/L, 280 d, respectively, it is the early maturing varieties. The results also indicationed that seed crude protein （dry basis）, lysine （dry basis）, wet gluten, sedimentation value, ash （dry basis） were 118.5 g / kg, 0.46%, 19.0%, 35.4 mL, 1.4%, respectively. In addition, Lingtai 3 was assume good resistant to diseases, good resistance to rust, and resistance cold, resistance drought, resistance lodging. In 2004-2006, the average yield of Lingtai 3 was 4 373.9 kg/hm2 and 6.64% higher than of the check Xifeng 20 in region test of Gansu, is the fouth in the 11 tested varieties （lines）. It is suitable to plant in the winter wheat area of arid mountain plateau of Pingliang, Qingyang of Gansu, Qianyang, Longxian, Fengxiang, Linyou, Changwu county of Shanxi province, Jingyuan county of Ningxia, and other similar areas. |
