Abstract:The results of field experiments in 1985-1988 showed that there were good efficacies against cotton spider mite Tetranychus cinnabarinus(Boisduval) for more than fifty days in the plots treated with aldicarb (0.5-1.0 kg/ha.) in seedling hole at transplanting time,the mite population and infection plant rate were significantly lower,and the fibre yields were 27.8-38.2% more than those of untreated one,while the effect and persistance of phorate treatment (1.35-2.5kg/ha.) were inferior to aldicarb,and in carbofuran treatment did not show any effect on cotton spider mite.In field demonstration,the aldicarb treatment (563g(a.i.)/ha.) was more favourable than three or four times of traditional sprays,and it is more effective in plastic film covered field.There were some promotions to cotton growth and fruitage in systemic insecticide treatments.
