| Abstract: | Direct immunoperoxidase labelling on impression smears of brain and pharynx was compared with virus isolation and direct immunofluorescence for the detection of Aujeszky's disease virus in experimentally-infected pigs. Immunoperoxidase labelling was as sensitive as immunofluorescence and more sensitive than virus isolation for tissue that had been stored at room temperature (approximately 20 degrees C) for up to 144 h. |
