Abstract: | AIM: To explore the molecular mechanism of brain tissue injury induced by endotoxin. METHODS: Rats were divided into LPS, LPS+DEX, LPS+PDS and control group, respectively. NOS activity, NO content and TLR4 mRNA expression were assayed 4 h after intravenous injection of LPS. RESULTS: NOS activity, NO content and TLR4 mRNA expression in LPS+DEX and LPS +PDS groups were obviously lower than those in LPS group. CONCLUSION: PDS may provide protective effects on the central nervous system by down-regulating TLR4 expression, reducing NOS activity and NO content in the brain tissue. |
