Distinction between Texture Cohesion of English and Chinese Caused by Hypotaxis and Parataxis |

| Abstract: | Obvious distinction between English and Chinese is hypotaxis and parataxis.Emphasis is laid upon the form in English texture while in Chinese upon the meaning.This disparity that Englsih is hypotaxis-prominent while Chinese parataxis-prominent is reflected on all texture cohesive devices,including reference,substitution,conjunction,lexical cohesion etc.Therefore in translation between English and Chinese,the attention should be paid to the characteristics difference so as to properly deal the two languages. |
