Abstract:
We have used hydrophobic interaction chromatography on Phenyl-Sepharose CL-4B to compare the hydrophobicity of human IgA with the IgAs of eight animal species. The results suggest that the degree of difference between the various IgAs increases with increasing phylogenetic distance.
