白背飞虱在玉米上的取食行为和发育繁殖特征

摘    要:为探究玉米能否作为白背飞虱Sogatella furcifera的过渡寄主,采用刺吸电位图谱技术对白背飞虱在玉米上的取食行为进行监测,并测定其取食玉米后的营养物质和繁殖力变化。结果显示,不同生育期玉米处理组中,N4-a波和N4-b波的总时间分别超过37.88 min和87.15 min,平均持续时间分别超过5.26 min和28.78 min;不同生育期玉米被取食部位的可溶性糖和游离氨基酸含量均显著降低,而在成虫虫体中这2种营养物质的含量均显著升高;2龄若虫与成虫的N4-a波和N4-b波的总时间分别为78.04、62.16 min和248.14、299.72 min,均无显著差异;取食玉米的白背飞虱产卵期和单雌产卵量分别为4.45 d和13.83粒,显著少于取食水稻组的10.90 d和162.12粒,且在玉米上孵化的若虫在3龄前全部死亡。表明白背飞虱成虫和若虫虽能在不同生育期玉米上进行有效取食,但无法完成继代繁殖,玉米只能作为白背飞虱的临时性过渡寄主。

Abstract:To clarify whether corn can be a bridge host of the white-backed planthopper (WBPH) Sogatella furcifera, the feeding behavior of WBPH adults was recorded with electrical penetration graph (EPG) on corn, and the changes in the reproduction and nutrients of WBPH feeding on corn were measured. The results showed that the total durations of N4-a and N4-b waves exceeded 37.88 min and 87.15 min, respectively, and the average durations of N4-a and N4-b waves were more than 5.26 min and 28.78 min, respectively, on corns of different growth periods. The contents of soluble sugars and free amino acids in the sucking sites of corns during different growth periods were significantly reduced, and the levels of polypide in treated WBPH were significantly increased. No obvious differences were observed in the total durations of N4-a and N4-b waves between the second-instar nymphs and adults (78.04 min, 62.16 min and 248.14 min, 299.72 min, respectively). The oviposition period of WBPH on corn was shorter than on the rice (4.45 d and 10.90 d, respectively). The numbers of eggs laid per female adult feeding on corn were less than those feeding on rice seedlings (13.83 and 162.12 eggs per female adult, respectively). Nymphs hatched from corn all died before the third instar. These results indicated that the adults and nymphs of WBPH could not complete their life history by feeding on corn, although they could feed on corns of different growth periods effectively. Corn can just be a temporary bridge host for white-backed planthoppers.
