Abstract:It is established that, with wastewater irrigation of corn on alluvial and gray-brown desert soils, the total content of heavy metals and their mobile compounds increases. However, the content of Zn, Cu, Ni, and Co didn’t exceed the maximum allowable concentration. But Cd and Pb exceeded the maximum allowable concentration during long-term wastewater irrigation of alluvial soils. Irrigation with ground, river, and waste waters for 3 years didn’t lead to considerable heavy metal contamination of soils.
