The observation of histopathology of the Meretix meretrix Linnaeusparasitized by the larva of bucephalidae
Abstract:This paper reports the results of the histopathology of Meretrix meretrix Linnaeous parasitized by the Larva of the bucephalidae. This observation found that the trematoda raises up in the way of gernmal cell, its Larva comes through the phase of the sporocys, and finally becomes the cercariae. Its parasitizing situation is very similar to that of others trematode that parasitizes the clam. Most of them occupied the genital gland of the clam, relatively fewer occurred in other organs, but were not found in the digestive tract. In heavy infestations, the gonads were completely destroyed and replaced by mass of larve digenea. Other organs exhibited pathological changes obviously, e.g. The epithelial cells detached from the wall of digestive tract, digetive diverticula and gill. The structure of muscular tissue becomes irregularly arranged, parts melting. If heavily parasitized, all the essential organs were broken down and dead greatly. This observation also found that the bucephalidae not only harmed the tissues which have been parasitized, but also caused the other organs debiliation. In the end, the infeted clam was dead because all of his organs crocked up and lost their function.
