| Abstract: | This review summarizes the research advance in genetic transformation of forest trees, including the following aspects: insect resistance, disease resistance, herbicide resistance, modification of reproductive development, abiotic stresses, wood property improvement and the status of release and application of transgenic trees. Meanwhile, the general situation of basic research in transgenic forest trees are also reviewed. The problems and future prospects in genetic transformation of forest trees are discussed. |
