Abstract:In order to clarify the intraspecies diversity and pathogenic differentiation of Valsa pyri, eight strains with markedly different colony phenotypes out of the 303 strains isolated from Korla fragrant pear producing area were screened out for biological characteristics and pathogenicity research. According to the difference of colony color and sporulation ability on PDA medium, eight strains were divided into four phenotypes: easy to sporulate with golden yellow, hard to sporulate with cream yellow, brown green and gray black. Biological research results showed that the mycelial growth rate of the four phenotypic strains was the fastest at 28 ℃, full light, pH 5, wettable starch as carbon source and glutamic acid as nitrogen source, but there were differences among different phenotypes. The results of pathogenicity test showed that there was pathogenicity differentiation between different phenotypes, in which the brown green phenotype strain were classified to the strong pathogenicity type, the gray black and golden yellow phenotype strain was determined to belong to medium pathogenicity type, while the milky yellow phenotype strain was affiliated with weak pathogenicity type. The results provide a basis for revealing the population diversity of pathogen and the control of Korla fragrant pear tree rot.
