| Abstract: | Summary More than 200 accessions of three wildLactuca species were screened in the laboratory for race-specific resistance toBremia lactucae. Only a fewLactuca entries showed resistance both as seedlings and in a leaf disc test. Accessions ofL. serriola andL. sativa had a low degree of resistance. The best entries were also compared under field conditions. TheL. saligna entries were totally free from disease in the field test. High resistance was also recorded in a fewL. serriola entries and in lettuce cultivars such as Saffier and Mariska. |
