Abstract: | Laryngeal paralysis was created in normal dogs by sectioning the recurrent laryngeal nerves. The dogs were treated with bilateral vocal fold resection and unilateral partial arytenoidectomy, and sacrificed from 6 hours to 28 days following surgery. Swallowing abnormalities were not found in any of the dogs. Healing by granulation-epithelialization was complete by 14 days. |
