| Abstract: | The author reviewed the metabolic changes and nutritional demands of dairy cows during transition and early lactation and their influences on milk production, fertility and health. It is concluded that the correction of the negative energy balance, the optimal adjustment of dietary nutrient components and supplementation of vitamins and minerals are the effective strategy to decrease metabolic disorders and inlprove milk production and fertility. |
