Abstract:In order to explore that relationship between water holding capacity and organic carbon of shallow soil in the Zoige region,in this study,the shallow soils (0~20 cm) of main plant cover types (swamp meadow,non-swamped meadow and natural forest) in the Zoige Region were collected and analyzed the characteristics of organic carbon and water moisture to explore the relationships between soil organic carbon content and maximum water holding capacity.The results showed that:there were obvious differences in total porosity,maximum water holding capacity and organic carbon content of shallow soil among the three cover types.Among them,the maximum water holding capacity of swamped meadow soil was the highest (2592.46 g·kg-1),which was 4.0 and 1.9 times that of non-swamped meadow and natural forest.The content of soil organic carbon in swamped meadow (416.11 g·kg-1) was about 4.2 and 2.7 times that of in non-swamped meadow and natural forest.There was a very significant positive correlation between the maximum water holding capacity of shallow soil and organic carbon content in the Zoige region (R2=0.92,P<0.01),while there was also a very significant positive correlation between soil water and carbon of each plant cover type.The slope of fitting curve of water and carbon in shallow soil of three types of cover ranges from 4.11 to 7.43,and the natural forest land is the largest,followed by non-swamped meadow and swamped meadow.The study revealed that the maximum water holding capacity of natural forest soil in this area is the most sensitive to change of organic carbon content,and the relationship between water and carbon in swamped meadow soil is relatively stable.The results provide data basis for scientific judgment of regional carbohydrate functional evaluation under the background of global change.
