Abstract: | This article presents current efforts by the National Agricultural Library (NAL) and the challenges and opportunities of gathering contemporary and historical federal dietary guidance publications into a digital collection. It begins with the history of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) nutrition research and its promotion of dietary recommendations. The article then discusses the background of this digital project, its audience, and its stakeholders. It examines NAL's strategies for collecting digital content and promoting the collection and concludes with implications for other research libraries undertaking similar projects. |
