Abstract:New mounts for improving vibration isolation were designed and selected based on the vibration theory. A math model of the vibration for a 3060 engine system was developed in order to get a new approach to reducing the vibration in the structure. Several mounting configurations were analyzed using a simple finite element model. The effectiveness of the engine isolation system was measured and the effects of the improvement for the engine mounting were verified. The new mountings on the current combine mounting locations reduced the vibration level in the structure by 60%~80% and reduced strain level at some locations around 40%.
