Abstract: | The pollen morphology of 7 taxa of three genera of the subfamily Caesalpinioideae in Korea was investigated by light microscope
(LM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The pollen grains of this subfamily are monads, prolate spheroidal or subprolate,
and trizonocolporate. Sculpture pattern is reticulate or perforate. Based on sculpture pattern, colpus width and grain shape
at equatorial view, 4 major pollen types of the subfamily are discernible;Caesalpinia, Cercis, Gleditsia I, andGleditsia II.
