| Abstract: | In order to improve the survival rate of afforestation and the efficiency of vegetation restoration in the desert,it is essential to evaluate the suitability of afforestation under the different site types.The study determines the effect of site types on community characteristics of Haloxylon ammodendron plantation in Alax desert based on the methods of field quadrat investigation from 2014 to 2017 and GIS.Results shows that:(1)the site quality of H.ammodendron plantation was ranking of semi-fixed dune>mobile dune>pebbly Gobi desert>rocky low mountain>soil low hill.(2)The survival rate and coverage of H.ammodendron plantation was different significantly,of which was higher in semi-fixed dune than in low hill and rocky low mountain,but not for preserving rate in the different site type,and the ranking was inconsistent with site quality,(3)Artificial planting of H.ammodendron increased the number of plant species in the herb layer of semi-fixed dunes and mobile dunes,but had no significant impact on the species diversity of other site types.Therefore,it is suggested better to select the semi-fixed dune and mobile dune to plant H.ammodendron,and consider the combining of artificial sand-fixation measures and H.ammodendron plantation the mobile dune is needed. |
