Abstract:The Cucumber chlorotic virus (CCYV) is transmitted by the whitefly, Bemisia tabaci and has caused great losses in vegetable production. Up to now, there are many reports in northern cities, but there is no report in Hunan province. In a survey in Hunan province in 2016, the symptoms of chlorosis were found on cucumber leaves. Furthermore, a large number of whiteflies were found on the back of the infected leaves. A 774 bp target band was amplified and the sequencing results confirmed that the leaves were infected by CCYV. The viruliferous ratio of the female and male whiteflies collected from symptomatic leaves was 97.2% and 91.6%, respectively. Our research confirmed that CCYV occurs in Hunan province with high viruliferous ratio of whitefly. Our research provides a theoretical basis for controlling the invasion of the CCYV.
