Abstract:A PCR-based homologous cloning strategy was used to identify superoxide dismutase(SOD) genes from the leaves of Myrica rubra.Results of sequence analysis indicated that a 233 bp cDNA with a conserved regions encoding a 77 amino acids actin ortholog was successfully cloned and characterized.The SOD contained the signature sequence of Cu/Zn-SOD gene family.Multiple alignment analysis of amino acid sequences of the putative SOD conserved regions in Myrica rubra was more than 86% homologous with the best scorin...
