Abstract:Based on the faunal investigations of non-migratory grasshoppers in Yimeng Mountainous Area, Shandong Province in 1989 - 1993, the occurrence region of grasshopper community in this area, in which the soybean locust Haplotropis brunneri-ana Sauss. , small rice grasshopper Oxya chinensis ( Thunberg ), stripe-winged grasshopper Epacromius coerulipes (Ivan.), Atractomorpha sinensis Bol. , dark-backd grasshopper Euprepocnemis shiraki Bol. and Aiolopus tomulus (Fabricius) are dominant, were divided into three subregions: Southern Plain Subregion with frequent occurrence of small rice grasshopper, Central and Eastern Hilly Subregion with accidental occurrence of non-migratory grasshoppers and North-Eastern High-mountainous Subregion wih frequent occurrence of soybean locust, by applying the fuzzy cluster analysis method to synthesize the four constitutional factors, namely, the density (D), richness (S), diversity index (H' ) and evenness index (V' ) for the subregion differentiation. The results provided certain scientific bases for macroscopic decision-making and subregional control tactics of grasshoppers.
