| Abstract: | Language is a medium of culture. The differences in cultural background between English and Chinese are reflected in their own idioms. This paper begins with a comparison of the cultural differences in English and Chinese and the influences on their idioms. By typical examples, this paper aims at bridging the cultural gap and conveying the cultural information by means of foreignization and domestication. |
