Abstract:The effect of five factors on the grain yield, 1000-grain weight and protein content ofbeer-making barley were studied. The results showed that the grain yield and qualitywere affected significantly by the total amount and stage of N application, the date,norm and spacing of sowing. The first three factors (the total amount and stage of N appli-cation, and the date of sowing) affected the grain yield and quality significantly, butthe last two factors affected the grain yield significantly, the grain quality slightly.The combination of sowing norm at 15 to 20kg, 4 cun spacing, 10kg N per mu, sowing atthe middle or end of February and more fertilizer (80% N at tillering) was the best one, giv-ing the best quality and highest yield of grain.
