| Abstract: | Formaldehyde analysis instrument(4160-19.99m) and portable Total Volatile Organic Compounds(TVOC) gas monitor(PGM-7240) were used to measure formaldehyde and TVOC concentrations in the chamber outlet.Factors affecting the emissions of TVOC and formaldehyde from particleboards were analyzed by measuring the concentrations in the small climate chamber.The factors included hot-pressing parameters of particleboard manufacturing(hot-pressing pressure and time) and external climate parameters(temperature and relative humidity).The study shows that hot-pressing parameters of particleboard and climate parameters have obvious effect on TVOC and formaldehyde emissions.TVOC and formaldehyde emissions increase with prolonging hot-pressing time and increasing hot-pressing pressure.Temperature and relative humidity can accelerate TVOC and formaldehyde emissions. |
