Abstract:Spermatozoa chemiotaxis has been considered as one of the indexs to evaluate the quality of semen.The spermatozoa chemiotaxis of invertebrate was first confirmed by Miller in 1960s,which showed that olfactory receptor genes are both expressed in testis and mature sperm in mammal.Some research results showed that olfactory receptor(OR),such as hOR17-4 was both in nose and spermary.And spermatozoa chemiotaxis is considered to be related to this expression.Activition of OR can induce the increase of Ga2+ concentration in sperm,which lead to spermatozoa chemiotaxis and is helpful to fertilization.However,the association between spermatozoa chemiotaxis and olfactory receptor genes is on primary groung and is still for future study: Olfactory receptor gense have contribution to the fertilization and could be one way of sperm selective-those sperm who have the expression of olfactory receptor genes can meet with the ovum and successfully fertilization.
