摘    要:1983—1986年在河北邯郸通过不同处理(虫量、土壤肥力、品种)的田间试验分析,系统研究了棉花对于棉铃虫为害的补偿能力及其影响因素,并在此基础上提出了华北棉区棉铃虫防治新策略的建议。

Abstract:Field experiments have been conducted in 1983-1986 at Handan District, Hebei Province to investigate the compensative ability of cotton plants to the injury by the cotton bollworm, Heliothis armigera(Hbn.).This pest has four generations annually, among which the second to fourth broods damage cotton crop.The second generation has been proved to be synchronized closely with the square stage of cotton.It has been shown that due to the high compensative ability of cotton plants during square stage, they can sustain much better to bollworm injury, and light infestation of the second brood may even increase cotton yield.In case the population density of the second generation larvae is high, it may cause yield losses and insecticidal application will be needed.More cautions should be paid to the third brood, because at that time the compensative ability of cotton plants significantly declined or lost.Detailed field survey revealed that during the fourth generation, the percentage of parasitized bollworm eggs and larvae is usually very high, sufficient to suppress the bollworm population and chemical control is unnecessary.Experiments also proved that the compensative ability of cotton is significantly influenced by soil fertility.Under the same bollworm population density, the yield losses in high yield fields(most fertile comparatively, average lint cotton yield more than 150 catties per mu) were least or none, and heaviest in low yield fields(least fertile, average lint cotton yield around 80 catties per mu).Among different cotton varieties, the compensative ability has been shown to be different.Based upon these results, it is concluded that the current control strategy for cotton bollworm in North China, which emphasizes both the second and third generations, especially the second one, is evidently inadequate.The writers proposed a revised control strategy, that is, the chief target control generation ought to be the third brood, and this has been checked up by actual field control in a sufficient scale to be appropriate, and a lot of chemical control may be saved and enviromental contamination reduced.
