Abstract:According to previous studies,fulvic acid can significantly inhibit the growth of barnyard grass(Echinochloa crusgalli)under flooding conditions,which has the potential of controlling barnyard grass in paddy field.The safety evaluation of fulvic acid on rice is an important prerequisite for using fulvic acid to control barnyard grass in paddy field.Therefore,it is of great significance to systematically evaluate the safety of rice.In this paper,the seedlings of 24 rice varieties were treated with 0.8 g/L of fulvic acid solution under simulated flooding conditions.According to the inhibition rate of seedling height,root length and fresh plant weight,the rice varieties resistant to fulvic acid were selected,and their enzyme activities in stem and leaf were determined,which were further verified by a rice-barnyard grass symbiosis experiment.The results showed that 0.8 g/L of fulvic acid had no inhibitory effects on seedling height,root length and fresh plant weight of four rice varieties including Chuangliangyou 669,Longjingyou 534,Longyou Simiao and Jinguyou 3301,but had inhibitory effects on the other rice varieties.The activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD),peroxidase(POD),catalase(CAT)and glutathione transferase(GST)in stem and leaf of four fulvic acid-tolerant rice varieties and one fulvic acid-sensitive rice variety(Longyou 4945)were measured.The results showed that the enzyme activities of SOD,POD,CAT and GST increased in the fulvic acid-tolerant rice varieties but decreased in the fulvic acid-sensitive rice variety.The rice-barnyard grass symbiosis experiment showed that 0.8 g/L of fulvic acid could significantly inhibit the growth of barnyard grass,but had no inhibitory effects on the growth of rice varieties resistant to fulvic acid,which provides a new idea for the ecological prevention and control of barnyard grass in paddy field.
