Mechanism of Effects of Irrigation Modes on Yield of Double-cropping Rice in Southern Hunan
Abstract:To probe the optimal irrigation mode for double-cropping rice in southern Hunan,using early rice variety Zhongjiazao17 and late rice variety Shengtaiyou 018 as the materials,the effect of three irrigation modes(flooding irrigation,W1;intermittent irrigation,W2;wetting irrigation,W3)on yield of double-cropping rice in southern Hunan was comparatively studied,and the mechanism of its effect was discussed from the aspects of root morphology,leaf area index,chlorophyll content(SPAD)and dry matter accumulation and transportation,etc.The results showed that the total yield of double-cropping rice was the highest at 15.55 t/hm2 in W2,higher than those by 8.59%and 10.44%in W1 and W3,respectively.Irrigation mode significantly affected yield components of rice with the ear-bearing tiller rate,effective panicles and seed setting rate of W2 significantly higher than those of W1 and W3.Irrigation mode affected source characteristics of rice with highest leaf area index,leaf SPAD value and dry matter accumulation,and least decreasing range of leaf area index,leaf SPAD value,fresh and dry weight and volume of roots per hill at the middle and late growth stage of rice in W2.Irrigation mode affected matter transport of rice with highest export rate of dry matter of stem-sheath and leaf in W2.It is indicated that the intermittent irrigation could increase yield of double-cropping rice by raising the source,sink and export rate of dry matter of stem-sheath and leaf,thus it could be extended and applied in double-cropping rice area of southern Hunan.
