| Abstract: | Ri plasmid of Agrobacterium rhizogenes is a natural vector for genetically transforming higher plant. The results of structural and functional analyses of the T-DNA from pRi which is transferred and integrated into the genome of transformed cells in different plant species are discussed for the first time. Finally, the possible strategies for using the Ri plasmid to obtain transgenic plants are discussed. |
