| Abstract: | Land desertification is the first of the global top ten environmental problems.It is the most serious eco-environmental problem in China.In order to accurately grasp the status of desert-encroachment land in Ruoergai county and the necessary information for prevention,this paper analyzed the desertification rate,trend and classification based on the survey data in 2004 and 2009.The results show that in 2009 the desert-encroachment area is 72 569.05 hm2,with an increase of 24.01% compared with 2004.Annual growth rate is 4.8%.New desert-encroachment land is mainly distributed in the northwestern county.On the other hand,the desertification control practice achieves some effects from 2004 to 2009,and the land area with persistent desertification is smaller than that with alleviating desertification.Desert-encroachment land in 2009 is divided into three categories,76.58% of which belong to protection zone. |
