摘    要:本文介绍了美洲黑杨的天然分布,生长状况.西欧各国对其珍贵基因资源的重视和利用,我国引种美洲黑杨的现状及其作用等,并对我国进一步利用美洲黑杨的基因资源,促进我国杨树栽培的发展提出了一些看法.

Abstract:P. deltoides is distributed naturally in the Middle and the East of NorthAmerica. It has three subspecies: P. angulata, P. deltoides ssp monilifera and P.missouriensis. Owing to the interaction of natural hybridization, seedling origin, and natural selection, its natural distribution area becomes a treasury of valuable genetic variation. P. deltoides was introduced to Europe in the early 18 century. Its valuable gene resources were highly appreciated and utilized by the many European countries Out of its hybrids a lot or fine clones were selected, and extended in Europe, Asia, North America, Australia and South America, and won high estimation there. The variety of P.deltoides introduced to China in the earliest period was P. shanhaiguanensis, and the hybrid of P. euramericana so introduced was P. canadensis. After the 1950s, P. euramericana cv. "Sarau 79", P.robusta, P. deltoides cv.' Harvard'(I-63/51) , P. deltoides cv. "Lux"(I-69/55) , and P. × euramericana cv. "San Matina"(I-72/58) were sooner or later introduced with good results. In 1970s,P. deltoides was first used in cross breeding with somewhat good results. The complexicity or natural geography in China lends itself to the expression of gene in P. deltoides. Hence, a deep overall understanding of such a tree species is necesary so as to facilitate a systematic introduction or the provenance material. In order to promote poplar cultivation in China, a long range comprchensive breeding program should be developed.
