Effects of Non-Spring Grazing on Vegetation Characteristics and Species Diversity of Kobresiapygmaea Meadow in Source Region of Three Rivers

Abstract:In order to exploration the impact of no-spring grazing on the vegetation characteristics and species diversity of Tibetan Kobresia meadows in the source region of the Three Rivers,the study was conducted on the winter-spring pastures in Dawu Town,MaqinCounty,Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.The experiment period was from May to June in2017 for a 50-day trial of no-spring grazing in the spring,and the field observation was conducted during the peak growing season in August of the same year.The test results showed that after no-spring grazing,the total coverage and total biomass of the grassland increased by 23%and 58.6%(P<0.05)respectively.The important values of Cyperaceae and Gramineae forage grasses increased significantly,among which Kobresiahumilis,Huabian spike and Hair grass increased by 17%,75%and 59%respectively.The height of grass plants increased by 103%(P<0.05).The biomass of broad-leaved edible grasses increased by 58.62%(P>0.05),the growth of poisonous grass was significantly inhibited,and the biomass decreased by 61.53%(P<0.05).In addition,the richness index and Shannon-Wiener index decreased,while the Simpson index and evenness index increased.Therefore,it is believed that the no-spring grazing in spring can effectively improve the productivity of grasslands and achieve a win-win effect in production and ecology.
