Structure Design of Dash-Panel Upper Assembly on a Vehicle

Abstract:The exterior styling of an automobile usually brings visually aesthetic feeling and sense of achievement to customers or users. However, a bodywork interior structure is not always emphasized. As a matter of fact, the bodywork interior structure has an important position in a vehicle, and is necessarily an integral part as well. The dash-panel upper assembly is one of the most important integral parts in the bodywork system. It plays an important role in bodywork torsional stiffness assurance, cockpit environment improvement, and safety increase during the collision. The structural form, function, design considerations, and important role in the bodywork are particularly discussed in respect of dash-panel upper assembly in this paper. Furthennore, the basic design process of dash-panel upper assembly is also introduced.
