Abstract: | Dissected apical buds of determinate buckwheat seedlings were cultured on a medium with high BAP to IAA ratio, and clones of micropropagated plants were established. Regenerated plantlets (R1) were transferred to a greenhouse and grown to maturity. All plants of this R1 generation had terminal inflorescence typical for the determinate type. Sixty eight selected R1 plants, belonging to 6 clones (3 pin and 3 thrum), were allowed to cross-pollinate and 643 seeds were collected. In a sample of 100 seedlings belonging to the R2 generation, all plants again had the characteristic determinate growth habit with no signs of segregation. |
