Abstract: | A 10-year-old male Labrador Retriever had a history of chronic cough which was refractory to antibiotic and steroid therapy. Cytologic and bacteriologic examinations of transtracheal washings were unremarkable. Thickening of the bronchial mucosa was observed by bronchoscopy. Routine thoracic radiographs were interpreted as indicative of thickening of the bronchial walls and mild cardiomegaly. The dog was killed 2 years later at the owner's request. Chronic bronchitis and medial hypertrophy of the small muscular pulmonary arteries were observed on histopathologic examination. |
