| Abstract: | The background and the concept of Forest Ecosystem Management (FEM) are described. The relationship between FEM and traditional forest management is stated. FEM is developed on the basis of traditional forest management, but there is distinct difference between them. The present major problems and the direction of the study are discussed. |
