Abstract:The contents of mercury and selenium in the tissues of fishes were determined by hydride-atomic absorption spectrometry. The conditions for mercury and selenium determination were optimized and the correlation of two the determined elements was studied. The results show that the mount of digested solution, digestion temperature and time, the contents of current-carrying and the mount of carrying gas have some effects on mercury and selenium determination. It is founded that it is best to use 100?ml digested solution of selenium and 2?ml sulphate dose of mercury. The mercury digestion can get optimum effect at 80℃ and its peak height has no obvious difference in 1h to 3 h.1%HCl solution as current-carrying solution can get highest light absorption of mercury. The carrying gas mount of 150?ml/min is better to use.The results also show that the molar ratio of Hg/Se is form 0.4 to 0.72 and increases with the increasing of Hg content at the low Hg level.
Keywords:Mercury  Selenium  Hydride-atomic absorption spectrometry  Conditions optimization
