Abstract: | In response to the request of its member countries from the Latin America and the Caribbean to help promote agroforestry, FAO has initiated a number of activities in the region. These include a regional project Demonstration and Training in Agroforestry in Latin America , an International Workshop on the Formulation of a Project on Demonstration and Training in Agroforestry for the Amazon , held in January 1993, and the project Participative Forestry Development in the Andes . Currently, FAO assistance to the countries of the region in their efforts to promote agroforestry include The Latin American Technical Cooperation Network on Agroforestry Systems , FAO's country-specific technical cooperation projects, and assistance in obtaining development-bank loans through missions of the FAO Investment Center . |
