| Abstract: | The seasonal fluctuations in nitrogenase activity associated with the root systems of seedlings of Robinia pseudoacacia and Sophora japonica is here reported. Some characteristics of the nitrogenase activity in the two species are also discussed. Six species of Rhizobium attached to excised roots were inoculated and analysed, revealing the root exudates role in nitrogenase activity. |
