Determination of Schisandrin and Schisantherin A in Schisandra sphenanthera Rehd. et Wils. by HPLC

Abstract:Objective To investigate a rapid and sensitive method for determination of schisandrin and schisantherin A in Schisandra sphenanthera Rehd. et Wils. Methods To analyse Schisandrin and Schisantherin A in Schisandra sphenanthera Rehd. et Wils. by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) on a Hypersil BDSC8 column (4. 6 min×150 mm, 5 μm), detection wavelength was set at 254 nm and the column temperature was 30 ℃, The mobile phase was methanoi-0.1% acetic acid (65: 35), with the flow rate of 1.0mL · min-1. Results Schisandrin showed a good linear relationship at range of 4. 950-15.43ng ·μL-1 (r=0. 9996), and Schisantherin A showed a good linear relationship at range of 11.38;174. 6 ng ·μL-1 (r= 0. 9999). The average recovery rate schisandrin and schisantherin A in Schisandra sphenanthera Rehd. et Wils. were 98. 79% and 99.23;, and RSD of the method were 1.82% and 2.20; respectively; Conclusion The method is proved to be accurate, rapid, and sensitive. It can be used for quality control of schisandrin and schisantherin A in Schisandra sphenanthera Rehd. et Wils.
