Abstract: | FloR was one of the main specific drug resistance genes to florfenicol. There was a paucity of data for the detection of floR in Escherichia coli isolated from pet dogs. The survey of floR gene by PCR and MICs of 10 common antibiotics by micro-broth dilution were performed in this study. The results indicated that among 20 Escherichia coli isolates, the resistant rate to florfenicol was 65% there were 9 and the floR-positive strains, positive rate was 45%. It could be concluded that the resistance rate of florfenicol for pet Escherichia coli isolates would appear continually increasing along with this antibiotic extensive use in animals clinical diseases. So it was very necessary to supervise florfenicol resistance among Escherichia coli isolates from pet dogs. |
