The incidence of lameness in cows recorded by five veterinary practices over one year and one practice over four years was plotted with rainfall and potential soil moisture deficit. Correlation coefficients calculated between lameness, rainfall and potential soil moisture deficit over two-week periods showed the incidence of lameness in summer to be significantly related to the potential soil moisture deficit in the same two-week period and rainfall in the previous two-week period. Differences in patterns of lameness incidence among practices and years were also partly explained by differences in rainfall and potential soil moisture deficit; however, these effects were small compared with those of other factors that affect lameness incidence such as herd size, age and stage of lactation.  相似文献

A retrospective longitudinal study was conducted to examine whether the exposure of dairy herds to bovine virus diarrhoea virus (BVDV) affected udder health. All Norwegian dairy herds that had experienced a marked increase in the BVDV antibody titres in bulk milk (from a level corresponding to an optical density (OD) <0.25 to >0.55, as determined by an indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) between two nation-wide herd screening examinations carried out late in 1992 and 1993, respectively, were considered to have been exposed to BVDV during the period between the examinations. The reference group included all dairy herds in which the bulk milk was BVDV antibody-negative or had only very low titres of BVDV antibodies (OD <0.25) each year from 1992 to 1995. The annual incidence rate of clinical mastitis, the bulk-milk somatic-cell count, and the annual rate of culling because of mastitis in the herds, were compared in the year of BVDV exposure (1993) as well as in a period prior to exposure (from 1988 to 1992) and two years following the year of exposure. In herds exposed to BVDV, there was a 7% increase in the incidence rate of clinical mastitis in the year of exposure, as compared with the nonexposed herds. No significant changes attributable to BVDV exposure were observed in the bulk-milk somatic-cell count or in the rate of culling because of mastitis.  相似文献

A zero-grazed herd of approximately 400 cows had a significant mastitis problem associated with Escherichia coli and Streptococcus uberis during a study over three and a half years. Dry cow therapy and post-milk teat dipping effectively controlled staphylococci and the bulk milk cell count averaged less than 400 X 10(3) cells/ml, but over 1800 clinical cases of mastitis occurred over this period, 32 per cent of which were associated with E coli and 25 per cent with Str uberis. Only 8 per cent of the cases associated with E coli showed obvious systemic disturbance and 75 per cent were cured following penicillin and streptomycin treatment. The incidence was highest during spring and summer when the housed cows were dirtiest. Gross teat-end contamination came mainly from sources other than cubicle bedding, and changing the bedding from sawdust to sand did not alter the incidence of clinical mastitis. It was not possible to maintain adequate cleanliness either inside or outside the parlour, nor maintain a trouble-free milking apparatus. Epidemiological features of clinical mastitis in dry cows from a three year prospective study are described. Two hundred and seventy-three herds in England and Wales participated in the first year (1980) and 209 and 159 of them continued in the study in the subsequent two years. Clinical mastitis was recorded in 1.5 per cent of cows during the dry period in each of the three years. These cases represented between 3.6 and 4.2 per cent of samples from all clinical cases examined. The incidence of clinical mastitis in dry cows increased during the winter housing period (October to March), a peak occurring at the end of this period. A secondary peak in incidence was recorded in August. Streptococcus uberis was the predominant pathogen. Variations in the monthly incidences of cases associated with the major mastitis pathogens were observed. A greater proportion of cases which occurred during the dry period exhibited systemic signs than of cases which occurred during lactation, with the exception of cases associated with Escherichia coli. The risk of clinical mastitis was apparently higher during the last 30 days of the dry period than during the earlier stages of the dry period.  相似文献

选取宽甸站1960—2010年的气温资料,利用一元线性函数对近50年辽宁省宽甸满族自治县的热量资源变化特征进行分析。结果表明:宽甸站在近50年年平均气温升高1.8℃;春季升高1.5℃,夏季升高0.9℃,秋季升高1.0℃,冬季升高4.0℃;11月—次年2月是气温升高的主要时段;≥10℃积温增加212.6℃;无霜期延长20 d。其中20世纪80年代是气温变化的"拐点",其后年平均气温平均升高1.2℃,四季平均气温分别升高1.1、0.7、0.6、3.5℃;≥10℃积温平均增加148.1℃;无霜期平均延长13 d。  相似文献

Mastitis is an important disease in developing dairy industries. This paper describes a commercial mastitis control programme in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, based upon the five-point mastitis control plan and bulk tank somatic cell count (BTSCC) monitoring. Twelve farms which participated on the programme for 6 years are considered. Mean annual BTSCC fell steadily from 1200000 cells/ml to 461000 cells/ml over this time. This progressive improvement was probably a result of increasing use of and attention to detail in mastitis control practices. The control of subclinical mastitis improved in both hand-milked and machine-milked herds, though hand-milked herds consistently produced milk of higher BTSCC. The mastitis programme did not appear to influence the incidence of clinical mastitis. The paper concludes that a simple mastitis programme based on the five-point plan and BTSCC monitoring can be commercially implemented and effectively control subclinical mastitis in a tropical, developing country.  相似文献

A three-year survey to determine the incidence of clinical mastitis and the associated bacteria in dairy herds in England and Wales is described. Escherichia coli was the predominant organism in each year. Streptococcus uberis and Staphylococcus aureus were important for part for each year. The annual incidence of mastitis declined from 54.6 cases per 100 cows in 1980 to 41.2 in 1982. The incidence increased with age and declined with increasing herd size. The culling rate due solely to mastitis was 3 per cent. Strep uberis was the pathogen most frequently isolated from clinical cases which occurred in the dry period. Thirty per cent of all cases recurred at least once and staphylococcal cases exhibited the highest frequency of recurrence.  相似文献

An intervention study was carried out on 52 dairy farms in England and Wales to determine whether the implementation of a well-specified mastitis control plan in herds with an incidence of clinical mastitis of more than 35 cases per 100 cows per year would reduce the incidence of clinical mastitis, and also reduce the incidence of increases in the somatic cell counts of individual cows. A clearly defined plan for the diagnosis and control of mastitis was developed by two veterinary specialists from the research literature. The herds were randomly allocated to receive the plan either at the start of the study (intervention herds) or after one year (control herds). Data on mastitis management and the farm environment were collected during farm visits. After one year there was a significant 22 per cent reduction in the proportion of cows affected with clinical mastitis on the intervention farms compared with the control farms. There were also significant reductions of approximately 20 per cent in the incidence of clinical mastitis and in the occurrence of increases in the somatic cell counts of individual cows from below, to above 200,000 cells/ml.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to investigate the annual dynamic of thermal environment of dairy cowshed in free stall-feeding with window. Through continuous detection of the dairy cowshed for 12 months of air temperature, relative humidity and wind speed, the annual variations in these 3 parameters were analyzed. The results indicated that the indoor air temperature was high at noon and low in both the morning and evening, while the opposite tendency in the relative humidity was observed. The indoor air temperature was above 25℃ for 7.5 to 10 h daily in summer, especially in June, the indoor air temperature was higher than outdoor air temperature. In December, the indoor wind speed was almost 0 m/s. From the comprehensive index analysis, during the period of 09:30~19:30 in summer, the temperature humidity index (THI) was above 72, which made dairy cows suffer from mild heat stress. The wind chill temperature (WCT) was not below -10℃ in winter, and the dairy cows did not suffer from cold stress. In conclusion, not only heatstroke prevention in summer but also ventilation enhanced in winter for this dairy cowshed should be paid more attention.  相似文献

为研究寒区奶牛舍温热环境的年动态变化,试验选择河北省承德市某规模化奶牛场一栋散栏有窗奶牛舍,连续12个月监测舍内外的气温、相对湿度和风速并分析其规律。结果表明,全年奶牛舍内、外气温均表现为中午高、早晚低的规律性变化,相对湿度则表现出相反的规律。夏季(6~8月)每天有7.5~10 h舍内气温高于25℃,且在6月出现了舍内气温高于舍外气温的现象。12月舍内风速几乎全天为0 m/s。从综合指数分析,夏季每天09∶30~19∶30(10 h)舍内温湿指数(THI)均超过72,奶牛处于轻度热应激状态;冬季的风寒温度(WCT)均未低于-10℃,奶牛不遭受冷应激。综合以上结果,对于寒区散栏有窗奶牛舍,夏季应加强防暑降温措施,冬季加强通风换气。  相似文献

奶牛乳腺健康直接关系到奶牛生产性能,和牧场效益息息相关。如何有效预防奶牛乳房炎的发生,是牧场的重中之重。干奶期是奶牛乳腺机能恢复健康的一个重要阶段,对预防奶牛产后乳房炎的发生有着重要意义。本文利用长达1 年的时间,对635 头奶牛进行分组试验,并追踪观察其产后90 天内乳房炎的发生情况和产奶量情况。通过数据分析发现,奶牛干奶期联合使用抗生素和乳头封闭剂对奶牛进行干奶,比单独使用抗生素干奶,产后7 天的体细胞阳性率降低了28.58%;产后60 天临床乳房炎发病率降低了35.40%,产后90天降低了41.32%;各组之间的产奶量并无显著差异(P>0.05)。  相似文献

通过对辽西地区规模奶牛场及农户的近5 000头奶牛乳房炎发病率的调查表明:奶牛乳房炎的发病率随着年龄的增加而逐渐上升,7~8岁时达到高峰,以后有下降趋势;泌乳月的增加会提高发病率;夏季由于天气炎热,气温过高,发病率明显高于其他季节;环境卫生条件的好坏也很大程度影响发病率;机器挤奶较手工挤奶发病率稍高.  相似文献

Nine dairy herds (mean size, 149 cows) with bulk-tank milk somatic cell counts of less than 300,000 cells/ml and greater than 80% of cows with Dairy Herd Improvement Association linear somatic cell counts less than or equal to 4 were selected for study. Each herd was monitored for 12 consecutive months. Duplicate quarter-milk specimens were collected from each cow for bacteriologic culturing at beginning of lactation, cessation of lactation, and at the time of each clinical episode of mastitis. Streptococcus agalactiae was never isolated and Staphylococcus aureus was isolated from less than 1% of all quarters. There were 554 episodes of clinical mastitis. During the year of study, the incidence rate of clinical mastitis varied from 15.6 to 63.7% of cows among the 9 herds. Mean costs per cow per year in herd for mastitis prevention were: $10 for paper towels, $3 for nonlactating cow treatment, and $10 for teat disinfectants. Mean cost associated with clinical mastitis was $107/episode. Approximately 84% ($90) of the costs attributed to a clinical episode were associated with decreased milk production and nonsalable milk. Costs of medication and professional veterinary fees per clinical episode varied significantly among the 9 herds. Three of the herds did not have a veterinarian treat a clinical episode of mastitis during the year of study even though 2 of these herds had the first and third highest incidence rates of clinical mastitis. Proven mastitis control procedures are available, but few studies have documented their rates of use on commercial dairy farms. This paper presents the results of a mail questionnaire on the use of mastitis control procedures and sources of information on mastitis control, which were administered in December 1981 and again in February 1984 to 213 Minnesota dairy farmers. Sources of information about mastitis control were also determined for the surveyed farms. Response rates to the questionnaire were 56.8% in 1981 and 51.2% in 1984. Herd average milk and butterfat production were higher and somatic cell counts lower on responder's farms than non-responders'. Teat dipping was practiced by approximately 75% of farmers responding to the questionnaire in both years. However, only about one third of respondents used teat dips containing effective disinfectants. Approximately 93% of respondents used dry period therapy (DPT) but less than one half of them treated all quarters of all cows at drying off and approximately one third of them complied with the recommended infusion practices. A combination of effective DPT and teat disinfection practices was used by approximately 15% of respondents in both years of the survey. Segregation of mastitic cows occurred on approximately 40% of respondent farms and milking machine function was checked at least annually on 50%. Participation in routine veterinary reproductive health programs was 51.2% in 1981 and 61.5% in 1984. In contrast, regular veterinary input for mastitis control was received by <5% of respondents in both years of the survey. Data recorded in a herd health management system were obtained from 32 registered Holstein dairy herds from British Columbia. Frequencies of disease were described, and the effect of herd, age, year, season, and the interrelationships between diseases within a lactation on the occurrence of disease were evaluated. Lactational incidence rates were computed for diseases with a short period of risk (ie, udder edema, milk fever, retained placenta, metritis, displaced abomasum, and ketosis), whereas for diseases with a longer period of risk (ie, cystic ovaries, mastitis and stable footrot), incidence densities were calculated. Overall, the disease incidence was low and showed an increase in frequency by year, which we attributed to more observing and complete recording by the owner, rather than an actual increase in disease incidence. Most diseases occurred early in lactation and their frequency increased with lactation number; the exception was udder edema, which occurred mainly during the first 2 lactations. An informal path model of disease interrelationships was made conditional on herd. Based on the results we inferred 2 independent pathways: one started by udder edema, and the other by milk fever. Udder edema was directly associated with mastitis occurrence from 0 to 30 d in lactation, metritis, and cystic ovaries. Mastitis from 0-30 d in lactation increased the risk of both mastitis from 31-150 d in lactation and cystic ovaries. Both of these increased the risk of late lactation mastitis. Milk fever was directly related with displaced abomasum, which increased the risk of footrot. In general, diseases that occurred in early lactation tended to increase the risk of other diseases later in lactation.  相似文献

 利用玛曲草原1982-2005 年的气候和载畜量及NASS/GIMMS 半月合成归一化植被指数(NDVI)遥感数据,分析了NDVI与气候因素和载畜量的年际变化关系,以及植被NDVI对气温和降水的时滞响应。统计了4 个时间尺度(1~4个月)×4个时滞期(前0~3个月)共16种组合下,植被NDVI与同期和前期(前1~6个月)气温和降水之间的相关系数。结果表明,春夏季NDVI的年际变化呈显著增加,增幅为0.019/10a和0.022/10a。季节和年均气温及≥0℃年积温的年际变化呈显著增加,增幅为0.5~0.7℃、0.6℃和121.5℃;季节和年降水量的年际变化不显著;夏季气温变化稳定,春、秋季气温和4季降水的年际变化不稳定。春季~秋季和全年各月的NDVI与同期气温呈极显著正相关,相关系数(R)为0.72~0.95和0.87;春季、秋季和冬季及全年各月的NDVI与降水呈极显著正或负相关,R 为0.84,0.77,-0.52及0.80;每年NDVI的月均值与同期>0℃ 年积温和家畜数量呈显著正相关,犚为0.66和0.45。植被NDVI对当月和前2月降水的累积量(时间尺度为3个月)及对当月和前1月气温(时间尺度为2个月)的响应最强,时间尺度为1~3或1~2个月,时滞期为0个月的同期气温或时滞期为1个月的降水对生长季间NDVI的促进效应大;早期(4月)气温升高促进植物生长,而早期和后期(8-9月)的降水累加及后期高温抑制植物生长。  相似文献

Abstract

Genetic parameters of fertility disorders and mastitis in the Swedish Friesian breed (SLB) were estimated from 9516 observations, using a restricted multiple trait maximum likelihood method. Information on individual cow diagnosis for fertility disorders and mastitis was obtained from registered veterinary treatments matched with AI data and data from the milk-recording scheme, including culling reasons. Heritability estimates for fertility disorders and mastitis using only veterinary treatments as sources of information were 0.008±0.011 and 0.018±0.015, respectively. Including culling reasons gave a significant increase in heritability estimate for mastitis (0.083±0.030), but not for fertility disorders (0.001±0.003). Increased incidence of fertility disorders and decreased incidence of mastitis were found for SLB cows with a high proportion of imported Holstein Friesian genes. Estimates of heterosis effects were small and not significant. Estimated recombination effects were negative for fertility disorders and positive for mastitis.  相似文献

Data derived over four years from 434 dairy herds in 1998/99 to 244 in 2001/02 revealed average disposal rates of 22.6 per cent per year, half of which were for poor fertility, mastitis and lameness. The quartile of herds with the lowest disposal rates sold an average of 11.5 per cent annually and the quartile with the highest rates sold 35.5 per cent. Average annual disease rates over the four years were as follows: for assisted calving 7.8 per cent, for digestive disease 1.2 per cent, for ketosis 0.5 per cent, for hypomagnesaemia 0.5 per cent, for hypocalcaemia 5.0 per cent and for injuries 0.8 per cent. The incidence of mastitis increased from 36.0 to 43.3 per cent of cows per year. The incidence of lameness decreased from 23.3 per cent in 1998/99 to 20.7 per cent in 2000/01 but increased to 21.9 per cent in 2001/02. Data received from the same 219 farms during the first three years showed no effective differences from the full set of data for each of the three years. The lowest annual incidences of mastitis and lameness on individual farms were below 7 per cent and 2.5 per cent, respectively. In general, housing cows in cubicles was associated with a greater risk of lameness, and housing them in straw yards with a greater risk of mastitis. However, some of the lowest rates of lameness were recorded in cubicle-housed cows and some of the lowest rates of mastitis were recorded in cows housed in yards. Larger herds were not associated, in general, with higher rates of mastitis.  相似文献

以线性趋势和R/S分析方法对内蒙古开鲁县1953—2010年各季和年平均气温、年平均降水量进行了分析。结果表明,58年来开鲁县年及各季均温呈上升趋势,夏季均温的时序相关系数在0.01显著水平以上,其他为0.001极显著水平以上,倾向率为每10年上升0.19~0.41℃,而且均符合赫斯特现象,H值≥0.7139,未来将继续维持上升趋势;年及夏、秋季平均降水量为减少趋势,时序相关系数大于或接近0.10水平,春、冬季为增加趋势;年及各季降水量变化符合赫斯特现象,其中,年及春、夏、冬季的H值≥0.6026,未来年及夏季降水量将维持减少趋势,春、冬季维持增加趋势,秋季H值接0.5,未来趋势难以预测。  相似文献

为了解热带地区双坡式棚舍散栏饲养模式下的环境特征,在湛江测定了肉牛舍的温度、湿度、气流、PM10等指标。结果表明:棚舍内外温湿度几乎相同,换气量超过了最大换气量,PM10优于卫生标准,温湿指数范围为78~85,处于热应激状态。考虑了气流影响的体感温度范围为25~30.5℃,晴天的14:00和19:00,风速为0.95~1.30 m/s,气流显著地减少了高温的影响。棚顶隔热能力差,晴天棚顶内外表面温差不足1℃,棚顶内表面最高可达60.8℃,此时的舍内气温仅为33.4℃,棚舍自然换气调节是环境控制的主体。  相似文献
