As dogs experience oestrus only once or twice a year, it is necessary to establish an effective method of oestrous induction for efficient breeding. In the present study, we evaluated inhibin antiserum (IAS) on oestrous induction in anoestrous females. Bitches were administered 0.5 ml/kg IAS or a mixture of 50 IU/kg equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG) and 0.5 ml/kg IAS and 500 IU human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) administered 7 days after the mixture injection. As a control, bitches received 50 IU/kg eCG, with 500 IU hCG administered 7 days after eCG injection. Blood-tinged vaginal discharge, vulvar swelling, plasma progesterone concentrations and ovarian follicular development were assessed from day 0 to day 14. IAS alone injection did not induce oestrus in bitches at the anoestrous stage. Conversely, vulvar swelling, blood-tinged vaginal discharge and an estimated luteinizing hormone (LH) surge appeared on days 3–7, days 3–6 and days 7–9 after the IAS+eCG mixture injection, respectively, in all five bitches at the anoestrous stage. The average number of developing and ovulated follicles in bitches administered IAS+eCG was 8.8 and 9.6 respectively. A single eCG injection followed by hCG induced oestrous signs, with an average of 8.3 developing follicles and 4.5 ovulated follicles. This study revealed that IAS alone did not induce oestrus, but when IAS was used in combination with eCG, it induced oestrus and promoted a considerable number of ovulations in anoestrous dogs. 相似文献

We report a case of primary cardiac lymphoma in a cat, causing pericardial effusion. A 13-year-old castrated male Himalayan cat was evaluated for chronic weight loss and radiographic finding of cardiomegaly. Pericardial effusion and a heart mass were detected via echocardiography. Pericardiocentesis and ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirate of the heart mass were performed under sedation. Antemortem diagnosis of cardiac lymphoma was made based on cytology of pericardial fluid. Based on physical examination, laboratory tests and abdominal radiographs, primary cardiac lymphoma was established as the presumptive clinical diagnosis. Treatment with chemotherapeutic agents was initiated. 相似文献

In the auditory epithelium of the cochlea, the sensory hair cells and supporting cells are arranged in a checkerboard-like fashion, but the mechanism underlying this cellular patterning is unclear. We found that mouse hair cells and supporting cells express the immunoglobulin-like adhesion molecules nectin-1 and -3, respectively, and that their interaction mediates the heterotypic adhesion between these two cell types. Genetic removal of nectin-1 or -3 disrupted the checkerboard-like pattern, inducing aberrant attachment between hair cells. When cells expressing either nectin-1 or -3 were cocultured, they arranged themselves into a mosaic pattern. Thus, nectin-1 and -3 promote the formation of the checkerboard-like pattern of the auditory epithelia. 相似文献

The loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP)-fluorescent loop primer (FLP) method detects genetic polymorphisms by using a LAMP amplicon and measuring the peak temperatures of fluorescence resonance energy transfer between an FLP and a quencher probe, which is specifically hybridized to a sequence including a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). In the present study, the LAMP-FLP method was used to detect mutant genotypes F167Y, E198Q, and F200Y in the β2-tubulin gene region of causal pathogens of Fusarium head blight of wheat that result in methyl benzimidazole carbamate (MBC) resistance, proving its usefulness for monitoring strains with SNPs in target regions of MBC resistance. 相似文献

A series of novel 6-(1,2,4-triazol-4-yl) chromone and -1-thiochromone (benzo[b]thiazin-4-one) derivatives was obtained by cyclisation via thiosemicarbazides which were prepared by reaction of hydrazines and the corresponding isothiocyanates. Their fungicidal activity was evaluated against the rice blast fungus Pyricularia oryzae. Of this series, 2,5,8-trimethyl-6-(1-propyl-5-thioxo-3-trifluoromethyl-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl) chromone, 6-(1-butyl-5-thioxo-3-trifluoromethyl-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)-2,5,8-trimethylchromone, 6-(1-hexyl-3-methyl-5-thioxo-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)-2,5,8-trimethylchromone and 6-(1-allyl-5-thioxo-3-trifluoromethyl-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)-2,5,8-trimethylchromone were highly active (pEC50>6·0). Structure–activity relationship studies using the capacity factor k′ as a hydrophobicity index suggested that the log k′ optimum for 2,5,8-trimethyl-chromone and -1-thiochromone derivatives was around 1·0, equivalent to a log Pow value of c. 4·4. © 1998 SCI 相似文献
