Congenital deformities of the lower limb were observed in 2 calves from different properties. One was a newborn Holstein-Friesian bull calf with polydactyly and polypodia of the right fore-limb.The other was an 8-month-old Friesian/Jersey crossbred heifer calf, which had a mirror image duplication of the plantar/palmar half of the distal portion of the digits. The abnormalities in the second calf have not previously been described in cattle. This paper presents details of the clinical, radiological and necropsy findings in these 2 calves. 相似文献

This case report describes unilateral supernumerary digits of the forelimb in two foals. A diagnosis of polydactyly of the right forelimb in one case and of the left forelimb in the other was made by clinical examination and radiographic interpretation. Surgical excision was performed under general anaesthesia with a good cosmetic and functional outcome in both cases. 相似文献

The following case report describes the diagnosis and surgery of bilateral polydactyly of unknown origin in a colt. A 7-month-old Berber colt was referred for cosmetic and curative excision of supernumerary digits. Radiographic examination revealed bilateral polydactyly and well-developed first carpal bones. Surgery consisted of an osteotomy of both second metacarpal bones combined with an amputation of the supernumerary digits. The follow-up at 18 months after surgery revealed a sound horse with an excellent cosmetic outcome. 相似文献

The purpose of this study was to explore differences of the Beijing-You chicken product quality between different dactyly.Through the production performance,egg quality and meat characteristics comparative analysis research,we could get the correlation between the Beijing-You chicken polydactyly characteristic and its product quality.So this research could provide the reference to characteristic breeding and the development of the product quality of Beijing-You chicken.In this test,we selected Beijing-You chicken (for meat and eggs),and divided into 3 groups (four-toed (4F),single five toes (SF) and double five toes (DF)) with 4 replicates per guoup and 60 hens per replicate, 720 hens totally.Then,the production performance (weight,laying rate and egg weight),egg quality (haugh unit) and muscle quality (pH,waterholding capacity,shear force,TPA,andnucleotide metabolites) were determined,respectively.The results showed that the weight of DF Beijing-You chicken in 120 days and 240 days of age were slightly higher than that of 4F and SF Beijing-You chicken,but no significant difference (P>0.05);The egg weight of DF Beijing-You chicken in 160 days of age was significantly higher than other Beijing-You chicken (P<0.05).As for DF Beijing-You chicken,the waterholding capacity in leg muscles was better than the other types (P<0.05),hardness,conglutination and chewing of leg muscle were significantly lower than other types (P<0.05),while the cohesiveness and elasticity were significantly higher than other toe types (P<0.05).The shear force in leg muscles of DF and SF Beijing-You chickens were significantly higher than other types (P<0.05),the flavor substance shared no difference between different dactyly Beijing-You chicken (P>0.05).The performance of body weight and egg weigh of DF Beijing-You chicken were superior than 4F and SF Beijing-You chicken in the early stage,but had no significant difference.In addition,the muscle quality of different dactyly Beijing-You chicken had their own advantages,overall,the correlation between leg muscle quality and different dactyly was greater than the brisket. 相似文献

We describe the clinical findings and radiographic abnormalities of a horse with a bipartite distal phalanx and a bipartite navicular bone of the right forelimb. A 14‐month‐old half‐breed horse showed a severe lameness due to a lesion of the right forefoot which appeared completely and asymmetrically cleaved, from the solar margin to the coronary band. The horse was presented to an abattoir for slaughter and both forelimbs were collected for diagnostic investigations. The hoof lesion described herein does not fulfil the diagnostic criteria of equine polydactyly since post mortem imaging and pathological investigations ruled out the presence of supernumerary digits. Based on the clinical signs, diagnostic imaging (computed tomography) and gross examination, a diagnosis of pseudo‐polydactyly was proposed. To the best of our knowledge, the features of the present case report are unique, thus widening the range of lesions observed at the level of the hoof, which is crucial for horse health and activity. 相似文献

本研究旨在探讨不同趾型北京油鸡产品品质的差异,通过对其生产性能、蛋品质和肉品特征的比较分析,获知北京油鸡多趾特征与其产品品质之间的相关性,为北京油鸡特色养殖及产品品质开发利用提供参考。试验选取肉蛋兼用型北京油鸡,分为3组（双四趾、单五趾和双五趾）,每组4个重复,每个重复60只鸡,共720只,分别对其生产性能（体重、产蛋率和蛋重）、蛋品质（哈氏单位）及肌肉品质（保水性、剪切力、TPA、核苷酸代谢产物）进行测定。结果显示,双五趾北京油鸡在120和240日龄的体重均略高于双四趾和单五趾北京油鸡,但差异不显著（P>0.05）;双五趾北京油鸡160日龄的蛋重显著高于其他趾型北京油鸡（P<0.05）。双五趾油鸡腿肌保水性显著好于其他趾型（P<0.05）,腿肌硬度、胶着性和咀嚼性显著低于双四趾和单五趾油鸡（P<0.05）,而内聚性和弹性则显著高于其他趾型（P<0.05）,双五趾油鸡腿肌的剪切力显著高于其他趾型腿肌（P<0.05）,不同趾型间北京油鸡风味物质无显著差异（P>0.05）。双五趾北京油鸡在前期体重与蛋重方面表现优于双四趾北京油鸡,但差异不显著（P>0.05）。此外,不同趾型北京油鸡肌肉品质各有优势。总体来看,北京油鸡腿肌品质与趾型相关性大于胸肌。 相似文献
